SFUSD asked me to create broad design guidelines and an extensive collection of icons for their newly-created online portals for kindergarten through high school math programs.

For their Google doc-based portals, I provided them with font, hierarchy and color guidelines.

I created about 100 individual icons for the set, predominantly for math lessons but also general learning objectives and processes. Icons were either created by me (all the math representations) or modified and customized from purchased illustrations for conveying broader concepts.

I chose a color palette that would remain relevant across all grade levels, bright and bold, and somewhat primary. I used a barely discernible blackboard background in the background of the lesson icons.
